Coral World Marine Park

Drake's Seat
A look out post for Sir Francis Drake where he kept watch of approaching enemy vessels. The panorama is especially breathtaking (and romantic) at dusk, and if you arrive late in the day you'll miss the hordes of day-trippers on taxi tours. Rte. 40, St. Thomas.
Ft. Christian
St. Thomas's oldest standing structure, and has U.S. National Landmark status. This building has, over time, has been used as a jail, governor's residence, town hall, courthouse, and church. Ft. Christian now houses The Virgin Islands Museum, exhibiting USVI history, natural history, and turn-of-the-20th-century furnishings. Waterfront Hwy. Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, PHONE: 340/776-4566. Government House
Government House serves as the governor's office, with the first floor open to the public. It was built as private residence. The staircases are of native mahogany, as are the plaques, which are hand-lettered in gold with the names of the governors appointed and elected. A deputy official can lead you on a tour of the second floor. Call ahead for an appointment. It's worth the extra effort, if for no other reason than the terrace view.
