Nelson Museum
Lord Nelson memorabilia, including letters, documents, paintings, and even furniture from his flagship. Based in Antigua, Nelson came often to Nevis often to court, and eventually wound up marrying Frances Nisbet. Bath Rd., Nevis, Phone: 869/469-0408. Cost: $2 Weekdays 9-4, Sat. 9-noon.

Nevis Botanical Gardens
A fascinating 8 acre site, in the shadow of Mt. Nevis, has lagoons, streams, and waterfalls, as well as bronze mermaids, egrets and herons, old copper pots used as floral centerpieces, and extravagant fountains. Pinney's Beach
The island's most beautiful and popular beach. You’ll find more than 4 miles of soft golden sand on the calm Caribbean, lined with a magnificent grove of palm trees.

NICHE - Nevis International Culinary Heritage Exposition is a week long celebration of food, wine, and Caribbean culture, set in the tranquil beauty of Nevis. Niche will feature daily cooking demonstrations and gourmet lunches and dinners prepared by leading Caribbean and international chefs.

December-January

Carnival (Phone: 869/465-4151) is held for 10 days immediately following Boxing Day (December 26) and is the usual riot of color and noise, with steel-band and Calypso Monarch competitions and flamboyant parades of the various troupes.

Mid-February

On Nevis, a special Tourism Week (Phone: 869/469-1042) is usually held in mid-February and includes horse races, bartender competitions, and jump-ups.

Early August and mid-September

On Nevis, Culturama (early August) and Heritage Week (mid-September, Phone: 869/469-1992) include celebrations of local culture, from food fairs to craft exhibitions.
