FALL 2002 SIGNALS RENTAL VALUES UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN AT THREE VILLAS, INCLUDING 12th CENTURY ESTATE - BY WIMCO, LUXURY
VILLA RENTAL/HOTEL RESERVATIONS COMPANY
-- Newport, RI -- June 2002 -- WIMCO, the
luxury vacation villa and hotel reservations company, is offering three
Tuscan villas, including a 12th century estate, offer special rate
reductions this fall for harvest season touring from now through November.
“Our WIMCO reservations
specialists always recommend Italy in the fall, with grape and olive
harvests and many fewer people at the prime tourist destinations,” says
Jan Gordon, WIMCO’s Vice President Sales and Marketing. “American
travelers can have an affordable and unforgettable fall vacation Under the
Tuscan Sun (Frances Mayes).”
WIMCO, the luxury villa
rental and hotel reservations company based in Newport, RI, suggests that La
Cappella, Sassaia, and La Guardia, all in Tuscany, provide extraordinary
accommodation in one of the world’s iconic destinations.
La Cappella is an ancient
country estate dating to the 12th century on a hilltop near the Abbey of San
Galgano where, according to legend, rests the Sword in the Stone left by a
valiant and wealthy knight, Galgano, over 800 years ago. A wood-burning
oven, stone well, bedrooms sleeping up to 12 (including in a separate guest
cottage), handsome décor and spacious grounds are available until October
5th for $5015 per week, after October 5th for $3697 per week.
Sassaia, which sleeps 14, is
in the village of Sovicille just 15 minutes from Sienna. Sassaia is in the
heart of the Montagnola Senese hills famous for truffles and porcini
mushrooms (mushrooms are gathered from September-December in this region).
The configuration of the house lends itself to private quarters with
separate entrances. It is surrounded by hills of oak, olives and vineyards.
Sassaia is available until October 5th for $5397 per week, after then for
$3952 per week.
Only minutes from the
Renaissance town of Pienza, La Guardia is a restored country house in the
heart of the Crete Senesi. Set on a hilltop with 360-degree views of the
Tuscan rolling hills, La Guardia creates a haven for up to 10 guests with
modern touches such as separate entrances, Jacuzzis and an infinity-edge
pool. It is available until October 5th for $8032 per week, after October
5th for $5610 per week.
There are extra charges at
all three villas for maid, cook, laundry and babysitting services.
