A Great Villa and A Great Help, November 2002

We had such a great time in SBH. That house (CEO) was fantastic, definitely beyond our expectations. The Wimco website pictures don't quite do it justice. The bedroom shots are accurate, but the view is outrageous, even surreal.

We mostly ate in, but did go out a few times. Tapas at Eden Rock: fair. The food at Maya's: excellent. New Born: fantastic all the way around. The people are friendly and fun (Frankie and David) and the food was nice and fresh. We had stuffed crab, smoked tiger shark and lobsters. And lots of rum.

We went to more beaches this time, each one better than the last. I think we hit them all. The weather was good for us. It rained every day but never for more than a few minutes at a time.

Thanks for all your help. It made for one of the best vacations ever.

Restaurant reviews on St. Barts, November 2002

...Restaurants were all opened (except Eden Rock-up) and doing well. La Saladerie has moved next door into the old Les Artistes spot - same good food & prices, but much nicer spot/interior as they did major renovations. Really nice place for lunch or dinner. Ate at Sapotillier - always enjoyable with Adam. The entrees this year have a more Hungarian swing with lots of authentic, spicy paprika. Au Port same excellence as always. The fois gras and pate was truly outstanding. They no longer have their wonderful lamb rack on the menu but if you call in advance, they will get it for you. Wall House was also very good and has excellent pricing. We prefer lunch there as the evenings are a bit busy and rushed for us, but they're friendliness abounds at any time and their prices very reasonable. Pipiri was also very good. Their fish is always fresh, caught daily from local fisherman.

I also tried their lamb and it too passes the Pam test. L'Ananas with Jean Claude still at the helm is forever wonderful. He's added duck with whole cranberries to the menu which was truly delicious. Expensive for sure but what a night! La Marine had just opened so their menu was limited, but their chef (returning from last year) dished out the same great escargot, skate, and pomme frites as always. For those frequent visitors, you will be happy to know they've ordered fat cushies for the chairs - what a relief! Paradisio is up and running for another year - same good food and prices. They had a limited menu so didn't get to taste my usual, but one thing is for sure, their carpaccio is as good as ever. The old Pelican on St. Jean is expensive but great for lunch - huge portions, lovely presentations, wonderful flavors. New Born - the steady eddies, still have the best fresh lobster on the island. During dinner, had fun watching four sting rays glide around the huge aquarium (Frankie and David caught them off Shell Beach last month. Really neat.) You probably know L'Escale is gone but La Saladerie (I think) has better pizza than they ever did. Didn't go, but the Sante Fe has new owners and their Thursday mussel night is garnering some repeaters. Whew - didn't mean to get into a major restaurant review here! If anything, it just goes to show how much I LOVE that island and that this is one venture that causes me to diet BEFORE AND AFTER going!!! Anyhow, you have one wonderful time sampling them all again! Gosh how I miss all that good food!!!!!

An Outstanding Villa, July 2002

We loved Sib DAY. What an outstanding villa. We also loved St. Barts in the summer - no crowds, great weather (temperatures were much cooler than Baltimore), and lots of good deals. We are interested in taking our girls there in 2004...

...All the best and thanks again for suggesting DAY - we even got to watch the Bastille Day fireworks right from the deck drinking the bottle of champagne you provided.

Excellent Customer Service, June 2002

Dear Anne-Marie,
Just a note to thank you for your assisting me with regard to my vacation in St Barts. Your service, follow-up calls and your recommendations were excellent. My wife and I had a wonderful time, and you were right, the Hotel Isle de France was exquisite. We are looking forward to going back soon!

Again, it's always nice to deal with someone like yourself when it comes to planning vacations. I'll be referring your name to several people I know and I hope they will call you to use your service. It's been a pleasure working with you.
Merci beaucoup,

Satisfied in St. Barts...June 2002

The villa was everything we expected and more. Very clean, great view (even better than the picture shows), high enough to get a good breeze yet low enough to where we could walk to Eden Rock, the beaches, and shops. The mosquito spray must have help because I didn't see one until the end of the trip. Longer trips might need a spray in the middle of the trip. I didn't know about the Jacuzzi and it was wonderful. The second day the temperature got stuck on cool and when we called Sibarth, they came out while we were gone and fixed it. Also when we tried to make reservations at Isle de France and had a little trouble with the language barrier, we called Sibarth and they made them for us and confirmed back to us immediately. They were very helpful. We did get the maid to wash a few of our things and tipped her extra. She was very sweet as well. All in all their services were wonderful. There is also a wonderful hammock on the porch we did not know about or see in any of the pictures. This had been one thing we wanted so it was a pleasing surprise. The furniture was comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. What more can I say? We will definitely be returning. To let you know how much David liked the trip, he keeps telling everyone that he'll never visit another island in the Caribbean but St Barts. I thought it was so unique because it had such a European feel as opposed to the typical Caribbean island feel. One thing that stood out was there was no poverty visible, no nagging locals....and very safe feeling. Again thank you for all your help.

A client back from Umbria...June 2002

Deirdre,
We had a fantastic time at Villa Monti - it truly was a spectacular place, both in terms of accommodation and location. We all hope to return someday. The cooks, maid, garden staff and local management were all wonderful people who did everything they could to ensure we had an enjoyable time. In particular I would like to mention: Josepina, maid and cook (the last night). A lovely lady who makes amazing pizza, and kept the place spotless! Rita: cooked for us Saturday and Wednesday nights - delivered everything we wanted on time, and at a very reasonable price. Her cooking was EXCELLENT!! Alfredo the gardener, very friendly and kept pool sparkling clean. Massimo & wife, made sure everything was perfect. Responded within 10 minutes of our call when the light fuse blew! Villa Monti was everything we could have wished for and more. Thank you for recommending it!!

Elysium in Tortola, June 2002

Hi, Michael,
Thanks for your phone message. Tortola and the villa Elysium were absolutely magnificent, I want to thank you for all of your arrangements -- everything, including the car rental, went quite smoothly. I wouldn't hesitate to do a vacation rental with WIMCO again!

Bliss in Barbados...

Deirdre,
First of all I would like to let you know that we had a wonderful time in Barbados. The Lagoona Villa was beautiful, direct on a gorgeous beach, and the staff at the house very efficient and friendly. And the food prepared by the house cook was outstanding. We ended up never going out to eat at restaurants. Thank you for suggesting this house to us. We certainly will be going back. Hopefully as early as next year. In fact, I would appreciate receiving a brochure with houses you rent across the Caribbean so that we can start thinking about next year.
