Important Travel Information for Peter Island Vacations
Passports & Immigration
WIMCO recommends that U.S. citizens ALWAYS travel with a valid passport whenever traveling outside of the continental US. While many of our destinations may only require a birth certificate and a valid driver's license at this time, immigration requirements may change without any notice. For ALL other non-US citizens, please check with the embassy of the country/island to which you are traveling (French, British, Italian) to see if you need a special visa. (Note: If one of a honeymooning couple is a US Citizen and the other is not, a visa is still required by the non-US citizen). When bringing a nanny or babysitter, please be sure that they too have appropriate documentation.
Before new arrivals even claim their luggage in the tiny, Beef Island Airport, a Peter Island representative will be waiting for them. As the resort's goodwill ambassador, she greets every guest with trademark Caribbean hospitality, helps with the bags and escorts them through the terminal and outside for a quick journey to the private launch. Waiting at the dock in his crisply pressed whites, Captain Flanders shows guests on board Islander IV where an on-board hostess takes over. After passing out cocktails, she checks in each passenger during a pleasant cruise to Peter Island.
Round trip taxi and boat transfer to/from Beef Island Airport, Tortola and unlimited resort ferry transportation to/from Tortola for remainder of client's stay are included in the rates. The ferry takes approximately 45 minutes each way. St. Thomas transfers are available by reservation only and a charge of $50 per person, one way. These transfers are available on Tuesdays and Saturdays (January - March) and Tuesdays (April - December). Space is limited and reservations are mandatory with a minimum 10-day in advance notification.
