Beaches on Tortola
Long Bay Beach
A perfect getaway for a day, this charming, half-mile strip of soft white sand on the West End is easily accessible by road.
Smugglers Cove Beach
This beach is great for swimming and snorkeling. Amenities and services include bar and snack stand, floating beach mats, and snorkeling rentals.
Cane Garden Bay's Beach
Cane Garden Bay's is the most popular beach in Tortola. It is great for dining and entertainment, with several beach bars/restaurants. The water is calm and turquoise blue, and it is good for snorkeling at the western end of the beach.
Little Thatch
Little Thatch has a beautiful white sand beach, bowing palm trees and is surrounded by exquisite turquoise blue sea.
Josiah's Bay
Located in East Tortola, this is a fun surfing beach, easily reached by road. Good for snorkeling when the waves are calm. Josiah's Bay has a few bars/restaurants which serve excellent food at reasonable rates. There are stunning views of Guana Island and White Bay.
Apple Bay
This is a great place for surfers. In the winter season, this stretch of beach enjoys waves of up to six feet and is a mecca for the BVI surf crowd. It is also home to the world famous Bamba's Surf Shack. Apple Bay is a great place to hang out, sip a drink, and watch the sun go down over your surfboard.
