WIMCO Villas
Welcome to the Fabulous Virgin Islands
This stunning stretch of islands wowed our WIMCO team on their most recent trip. Kate and Charlotte soaked up Virgin Gorda and St. John, describing both as definitively classic Caribbean living. Stay tuned for Part 2 of our Virgin Islands trip, where colleagues Ben and Ford explored the private islands throughout the BVIs.

Virgin Gorda
Seeking a truly laid-back, authentic Caribbean experience? Virgin Gorda is the place to be, especially if you hope to stay at a beachfront villa. Below are some of our Villa Specialists' top picks from their trip.

"Located steps from Mahoe Bay, this villa is situated in a quiet community with shared tennis courts and a quick drive to Spanish Town for restaurants and shopping. The beach looked perfect for swimming, and has great snorkeling right off shore. I especially liked this villa for its direct beachfront location and updated Caribbean style. The spacious oceanfront terrace has plenty of sun and shade lounging areas for everyone. It would be the perfect house for any beach lover, not to mention, the sunset views."

"In the same neighborhood as the soon-to-open Rosewood at Little Dix Bay, this villa enjoys access to the Rosewood facilities. The main villa is decorated with beautiful Gyotaku paintings (a form of Japanese art). Two bedrooms are in the main house while the other two are in bungalows - far enough away for fantastic privacy between guests. The villa also enjoys a pretty private beach, accessible by steps leading from the villa."

"Relaxed and comfortable, this villa is perched on a hillside with the best views that I took in during my time on the island. The biggest perk? You can access a gorgeous and quiet beach below the villa via a private path from the pool deck. I didn’t want to leave!"

"A super cute island villa with panoramic views to the northwest. The deck was great, with comfortable loungers and gentle breezes wafting through. You can see the Nail Bay Sportsclub and Sugarcane restaurant, which speaks to the proximity of the villa to the activities there. Both equal bedrooms were on opposite sides of the deck, offering great privacy for two couples. I would love to come back and stay here myself!"

Where to Eat & What to Do
The Baths, Virgin Gorda The Baths
"Upon arrival, we immediately went to see the island's famous national park, 'The Baths.' Giant boulders left here from ancient volcanic activity have created sheltered grotto-like sea pools right on the edge of a pristine beach. By the time we arrived at the park, it was one hour before sunset and there was almost no one else there."

St. John
For villas with views, protected wildlife, and actually more dining and nightlife options, head to St. John, one of the smallest but more desirable spots in the Virgin Islands. Here are some of Kate and Charlotte's favorite villas.

"This villa was a great place to start for our St. John trip. The villa was beautiful, well-appointed, and well-maintained. The outdoor deck had fantastic views over seven of the island’s beaches and was very spacious - perfect for hosting a special event. The exotic hardwoods throughout the interior were beautiful and the decor was simple and well-placed."

"This nine-bedroom villa was by far the most impressive I saw in St. John. Water access in front of the villa allows guests to take advantage of paddle boarding and snorkeling. With its spacious outdoor terrace, I imagine it would be lovely to entertain, or simply sit on the terrace at night and watch the twinkling boat lights around Great Cruz Bay."

"This was probably my number one villa in St. John. Modern, pristine, and very refreshed, the villa truly stands out. It has a large pool, deck, and outdoor cabana area. Inside, the rooms were spacious and well-decorated. Four of the bedrooms are in the main house, while the fifth is located below the cabana."

"One of my favorite villas was this true hidden gem tucked up high on the hillside overlooking Cinnamon Bay. It is completely private with impressive gardens and old-Caribbean charm."

A Bite to Eat & Where to Beach
Maho Bay Maho Bay
"We had a chance to stop at Maho Beach for a quick dip. Just a couple yards off the beach, groups of snorkelers would pop up and proclaim, 'There’s a sea turtle over here!' Fish jumped right at the shoreline, sting rays littered the sea floor, and pelicans patrolled the beach, diving headfirst for dinner." - Charlotte
