What to Know About St. Barths
You love the island, but you may be hesitant to travel. Perhaps you're interested in St. Barths as it's one of the few places you can travel to. Since the borders re-opened in June, clients have traveled, our Editor spent two weeks there, and our CEO just got back. Read on for client testimonials, what it's like to fly, plus a summer recap of restaurants and villa tours.

WIMCO Villas Dispatch from Our CEO
"All in all, the lead-up to the trip was far more nerve-wracking than the actual doing of it. From my personal perspective, I thought, 'Gee, what was all the fuss about? This was way easier than I thought it would be!'"

What to Know About St. Barths
COVID Trip Report

Where to Stay
"Anytime someone from the WIMCO team is in St. Barths, we make it a priority to visit a variety of villas on the island. Putting ourselves in the shoes of a family with young kids, a couple on a budget, or a group celebrating a milestone lets us see villas with a new lens. Here were some of my favorites on this trip." - Heather W., Editor
Villa WV RIG, 5br, St. Jean
Villa Romana
RIG, 5BR, St. Jean
"We stayed at this villa with friends for the first week. I can’t recommend it enough. It is a five minute walk up from Nikki Beach, and we walked almost daily. Experiencing St. Barths sans car is a totally different experience. Because the view over St. Jean bay is so mesmerizing, it is easy to stay here all day. For me, these are the types of villas I love, when you can be just as happy staying put than going out."

Villa WV BBA, 3br, St. Jean
Villa Super Sky
BBA, 3BR, St. Jean

"Having stayed here before, I really love the centrality of it. Very close to the backroads to get to Saline, and just up the hill from St. Jean. I love the views from the kitchen at BBA, and the hammock here has an effect on me like no other. The living rooms (both indoor and outdoor) and dining room are wonderfully decorated – clean, minimalist, linen in feel, with little pops of color."

Restaurant Reviews
"Even when the hotels were closed this summer (they're now open!) there's no dearth of dining options on St. Barths. My advice? Let WIMCO organize a chef for a relaxed first night. With a group of six, we enjoyed a combination of group meals and date nights at the following spots." - Heather W., Editor

Negative COVID Test Required

St. Barths has a strict entry protocol - you must send your negative test results to both WIMCO and your airline 72 hours before arriving. It must be a PCR test. If you are staying longer than 7 days, a second test is required on island.

What Recent Travelers Are Saying
Who better to hear it from than those who have visited St. Barths during Covid?
We had the best vacation "We had the best vacation we could have possibly imagined. St Barths has everything we love. The beaches, the food, the bakeries, the rum, the villa. We would not change a thing. As far as WIMCO services and staff (Lucas was a gem), I don't think we will be able to vacation again without you. Thank you for such a marvelous trip." - Mike M., Villa MAG, Oct 2020

Nothing but good things "All is absolutely wonderful! The villa is really so adorable and perfect - and the island is pretty great right now - very chill. Nothing but good things all around!" - Nick N., Villa CNG, July 2020

Back to normal "The island shops and restaurants were very welcoming - you could tell they are really ready for things to get back to normal. Our concierge Marco was really nice in helping us with reservations and logistics all week. We enjoyed our stay immensely." - Rob H., Villa VBB, July 2020

No connectivity issues "St Barths is great. I'm happy that I came. The WiFi is actually pretty good. I haven't had any issues with connectivity or video calls which has been great. The location of course is convenient too, walking distance to everything in Gustavia." - Umar, Villa ROS, September 2020
