Mykonos Villas
Ready for a Cycladic adventure? The Greek islands of Mykonos and Santorini are opening to US tourism on May 15th. Mykonos is known for white-washed villages tumbling down the hillside, clad in bougainvillea. It has long been a favorite of foodies, history buffs, and nightlife chasers. WIMCO's Special Projects Manager, Michael, and Editor, Heather, walked us through what it is like to visit this Aegean gem.

VILLAS FOR COUPLES AND FAMILIES

"Neptunea is a Villa that always stands out to me from the last time I visited Mykonos. With easy access, it's nestled within a cluster of villas, all with wonderful views. Lounging by the pool at the end of a day was perfect. The white stucco is traditional in Mykonos and lends itself to a relaxing feel."

VILLAS FOR FRIENDS AND GROUPS

"I had a great time at Villa Okyroe. There was a lot of time spent by the infinity pool, and the view of Delos just invites you to stay longer. This villa would be great for a family, as it's walking distance to a small beach and a 10-minute drive from Mykonos town."

Where to Eat
RESTAURANTS IN MYKONOS

"There are many reasons to go to Mykonos—the color of the water alone, the music, and the stunning villas—but undoubtedly, the food scene will convince you. If you intend to eat light and vegetarian, you’ll find no better place, and then again, if you’re more into feta cheese and baklava, you’ll be just fine too."

ROMANTIC VISTAS
Mykonos Restaurants Mykonos is a mecca for anybody craving Mediterranean cuisine, fresh seafood, and mezze-style dining. Feel at home (and like family) in the alley-sprawled restaurant of Katrin (the spanakopita is a must-try). Take a dip between bites at the elegant seaside restaurant Spilia (Heather's can't-miss dish? The fudge-like chocolate cake. "Trust me" she says, "you want it"). Find your way to local jewel Kiki's Tavern, perched atop a hill on Agios Sosis beach (hot tip: there are no reservations, try to get there before you're hungry).
THRILLING NIGHTLIFE

As scenic and bustling as the restaurants and bars are by day, Mykonos comes to life by night. Start the night off grazing tzatziki, hummus, and spicy pita chips (cocktail in tow) on Scorpios' charming stretch of Sunset beach. Next, visit the posh, starlit terrace of ASTRA for their prized Delos cocktail. Looking for a show? Watch the culinary display of the famous Salt Bae at his Turkish restaurant Nurset. Cap off the night by watching the sun rise poolside at Cavo Paradiso (you may even be tempted to take a morning plunge).
