A Trip Around Some of Anguilla’s Finest Properties

Bethany enjoyed a trip hopping across the Caribbean with her colleagues Steve and Ben. During her excursion, she visited Anguilla, one of the Caribbean’s premiere vacation destinations. White sand beaches, fabulous restaurants, world-class golf, and some of the world’s finest accommodations, Anguilla is a lovely island with a lot to offer.

As guests of the Anguilla Tourist Board, the main focus of this trip was visiting properties in Anguilla. Thursday afternoon, my co-workers, Steve and Ben, and I took the ferry from Marigot to Anguilla’s Blowing Point. We were graciously met by Patrice and Twyla, from the tourist board, and Glennis, the gentleman who would be driving us around during our stay. We were driven to Le Bleu, our beautiful home for the next four days. The invited travel agents participating in the trip had all arrived already, so after a few introductions, we were lead to our rooms.

Maybe the best villa I've ever seen!

Villa Le Bleu is one of the premier properties in Anguilla.  It has ten bedrooms, two pools, a Jacuzzi overlooking the water, a tennis court, a gym, and an office with a computer and WiFi. The staff was first-rate and took care of us in fine style.

The island was great, and the restaurants on Anguilla are second to none. Jacala, for example, was the best meal of the entire trip. It’s located on beautiful Mead’s Bay, and they have chairs and umbrellas out in the sand if you would like to go for a pre-lunch swim and soak up a little sun. Smokey’s at the Cove is a great beach bar and restaurant, and the Sunset Lounge at Viceroy is getting very good reviews for lighter fare.

We made a visit to The Viceroy, Anguilla’s newest resort. The lobby was very subdued, done in wood tones, and was much smaller than I had imagined for a 166-room property. The beachfront villas are gorgeous and extremely deluxe. The formal restaurant, Coba, is beautifully surrounded by water on three sides.

We also visited CuisinArt, and its spa is first class.  I learned that it is the second-largest spa in the Caribbean. It looked great and the renovations and additions are a true asset to the property.

It was a great experience.  I thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Anguilla and I look forward to returning to this truly delightful destination.
