Live Music and the Zen Bar at Do Brazil

Beach.  Tiki Huts. Live Music.  Cocktails.  Welcome to Do Brazil on Shell Beach. Located directly on Shell Beach, Do Brazil combines a chilled out, tropical beach vibe with the chic ambiance for which St. Barths is known.   You can access the lower level, Zen Bar, directly from the beach.  Seating beneath palm frond canopies and a cool outdoor bar offer an inviting spot to take a break from the sun and grab a bite to eat- breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available 7 days a week.

There is no real dress code, so feel free to leave the sand on your feet as this is a true beach bar where guests often chill out in their swimsuits in case they feel like taking the 5 steps back to the water.  What could be more tropical than cocktails in your bikini, in a Tiki Hut on the beach?  Not much.

Both the cocktail and a la carte menus reflect the casual chic atmosphere.  I recommend any one of their signature rhum drinks (this is the Caribbean after all), especially the Coco Loco: a delicious frozen libation made with white rhum, fresh lime juice, and coconut milk.  For those cigar aficionados, a fine selection of Cuban cigars is available as well as a list of cognac and suitably paired liqueurs for you to savor.  For those looking for something to eat, the menu includes typical beach fare like burgers and cod fritters, and fresh Caribbean, French, and Asian inspired dishes.

As nightfall approaches, the live music begins bringing a new energy to the Zen Bar.  This Wednesday the local band D.O.G.G. entertained the beach bar with a relaxed but vibrant set, with covers ranging from U2 and Springsteen to Nirvana and Muse.  From 5-7, the crowd continued to gather at the beach bar, with dancing and an overall great vibe.  Local music legend Papa Gayo was in attendance, and a surprise guest took the joined the band for an impromptu harmonica solo.   The bar offers live music every night including Caribbean style music and light jazz.  The band D.O.G.G. will be rotating performances between Do Brazil and the restaurant group’s two other locations Le Gustav and Table Du Joules.
