Architectural Panache Highlighted In St. Barts: Villa Specialist Wimco Introduces Four New Architectural Gems

NEWPORT, RI, June 2003 --The architectural panache that marks such prestige resorts as the Hamptons is reiterated in the French West Indies - St. Barts to be specific - with four new villas that Wimco, the luxury vacation villa and hotel reservations company, dubs "ultra modern and ultra luxe."

"There's nothing in the Caribbean like these villas," says Janis Gordon, Wimco's Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

The new villas, ranging from two to four bedrooms, have state-of-art kitchens, bath and electronic appointments, stunning views and are 10 minutes or under from prime beaches. Weekly rates through Dec. 14 are from $5,260 to $12,000, including daily maid service. Holiday rates are from $25,000 to $28,000 per week Dec. 25 to Jan. 5, 2004. Weekly rates are from $9,210 to $17,000 Jan. 6 to April 14, 2004.

Minimalist two-bedroom Villa SIB DOD at Pointe Milou sports contemporary art, Edoard Rambaud's white leather sofa and designer lighting (Michele De Lucchi). Floors are of Portuguese marble and in the pool and spa areas of Bisazza molten glass from Italy. Guests enjoy a double infinity pool and expansive gardens, including a specially themed herb garden. To accentuate serenity, a fountain is positioned under a glass roof at the villa's center.

Two-bedroom Seaweed Villa SIB SEA is exquisitely draped on a Pointe Milou cliff above the sea. This villa also accomplishes serenity with a Japan-inspired motif in brut concrete sanded and buffed to a unique patina and complimented by large glass windows tinted blue. An open design leads to the deck and gray-tiled infinity pool that appears literally to fall into the sea.

For additional details on these and also on the four-bedroom Villa SIB LLA on a Saint-Jean hillside please access www.wimco.com. Four-bedroom Villa SIB DEK is still under construction with details forthcoming on the web before the holiday period.

St. Barts is internationally noted for its sophisticated lifestyle appealing to fashion and entertainment industry leaders, exquisite accommodations and excellent restaurants, earning it the label of "Gourmet capital of the Caribbean." A 130-page magazine, Vendome Guide to St. Barthelemy, is a virtual "how to" for getting the most out of visiting here. (Wimco sells it for $11 plus shipping and handling.) Wimco staff visit and evaluate each villa to guarantee that a match is made for each client's expectation of value, and they can custom-design a vacation be it with private chefs, yoga instructors, yacht charters or simply restaurant reservations.

Wimco offers 1,200 luxury villas and distinctive hotels and resorts internationally in such select areas as Italy's Amalfi Coast, Capri, Florence, Rome, Tuscany, Umbria and Venice; and France's Cote d"Azur, St. Tropez, Var and Provence. In the Caribbean Wimco is represented on Anguilla, Barbados, St. Barts, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, St. Martin, Mustique, Nevis, Saba, Turks & Caicos, US and British Virgin Islands and St. Lucia.
