Turks & Caicos: Island Eats

Who doesn’t want to indulge a little (or a lot) and enjoy mouthwatering food while on vacation? After all, it’s the little details that add up to a memorable island escape. 3 WIMCO agents were just on the island of Provodenciales in Turks & Caicos visiting our villas and got a taste of what makes this such a foodie destination. From beachside casual to hilltop elegance, Turks & Caicos has something for everyone!

After waking up in paradise, the terrace at Parrot Cay is exactly where you should start your morning. The delicious breakfast buffet of almond croissants, banana bread, yogurts, fruits and eggs to order is sure to satisfy your taste buds.

There are so many dining options in Turks & Caicos and our agents were sure to experience as many as possible. From fruits to fish, we experienced all sorts of island cuisine. We enjoyed dinging outdoors at Hemingway’s right on Grace Bay Beach. Dinner at Coyoba was our most high end meal of the trip and we enjoyed their menu of classic recipes with a Caribbean twist. Magnolia restaurant is just up the hill above Turtle Cove and offers a unique perspective of the island since most of the island is flat.

We ate twice at Tiki Hut in Turtle Cove, which was great and walking distance to our villa, IE ALA. If you catch a fish they will cook it for you. After spending a day fishing it is only suiting that you wind down at Tiki Hut and let them handle the cooking!

We also went to have a look at Coco Bistro, which has such a great setting in a palm grove with twinkling lights and great food. Lunch at Las Brisas, right on Chalk Sound, was delicious and had great views. You can even rent boats there to go out and explore the sounds. Food on the island is fresh with lots of salads and fruits and grilled fish.

Of course Turks & Caicos is really known for their Conch, and you find it prepared a little differently in every restaurant you visit. Everyone on the island raved about Bugaloo’s and we could not wait to try it out. For island aficionados, Bugaloo was, for the longest time, THE man for Conch in the Blue Hills Road area. We met him on our 1st trip in 2003, and now, sure enough, he has a great set up in the 5 Cays area. A beach bar and restaurant serving conch of course with a great beach vibe, soft island breezes and palm front shade” Bugaloo is a conch lovers paradise!
