This past July, I traveled with a girlfriend from high school to Italy for the first time. Neither of us had been before, but we’ve always wanted to go, so we planned our trip to overlap with my friend’s family’s vacation for a few days, and then spent some time traveling by ourselves. In total, we were only there for about a week, but I think we saw a lot and definitely had a great time. This week, I’ll be publishing a miniseries with information from my trip and my own travel tips. Just so you are sufficiently oriented, here is the itinerary we followed on our trip:

Thursday PM: Fly from Boston to Rome to Genoa. Train from Genoa to Porto Venere area. Stay at b+b in Porto Venere. Drive from Porto Venere to the Cinque Terre. Hike Cinque Terre for a day. Drive to Genoa, stay for 2 nights. Drive to Sanremo- for 2 nights. Daytrip to Monaco from Sanremo. Drive from Sanremo to Florence. Train from Florence back to Genoa. Friday AM: Fly from Genoa to Boston via Rome.
