Snow, Frosty Air, and Holiday Cheer on Nantucket

As many of our clients head to St. Barths to lounge in the soft white sand of St. Jean Beach this season, a trip to Nantucket to enjoy the soft white snow of New England is a wonderful way to spend the holidays. With a crisp chill in the air and beautifully decorated storefronts, Nantucket radiates with the charms of a traditional New England Christmas. Throughout December, the island is adorned in holiday finery with stunning tree and light displays sure to get everyone in the holiday spirit.

This weekend (December 3 – 5), Nantucket will be filled with enchantment during the island’s annual Christmas Stroll Weekend. The season’s most renowned celebrities- Mr. and Mrs. Claus- will make a grand entrance via Coast Guard Vessel as they arrive to the island to welcome the Christmas season to Nantucket. Carolers donning Victorian garbs will sing out on the cobble stone streets as the sweet melodies from musicians waft in the winter night. Visit the Nantucket Whaling Museum as it is transformed into a holiday wonderland with more than 70 trees decorated by local merchants, non-profit organizations, artists, and school children. Be sure to shop the charming store fronts and feel the warmth of holiday cheer as is floats through the frosty air.

Enjoy the magic of this quaint island as the night glows in bright Christmas light displays, and spend your evenings cuddled up basking in the warmth of the fireplace at Villa NAN BOS. This eight bedroom private home is perfect for bringing the whole family together for the magic of a Nantucket Christmas retreat. Delight in making holiday favorites from the gourmet kitchen, let the warm scent of fresh baked holiday cookies drift through the house, and enjoy the wonder of the holiday season as snow drifts over Nantucket this December.
