Our Editor Heather shares her best-of bites of St. Tropez after a recent villa vacation. The biggest news? Completely renovated in 2019, Pampelonne beach is home to a slew of new restaurants – all of them decidedly good!

A Classic Mediterrean Meal in St. Tropez
Le Yacca
With tables flanking the pool, Le Yacca is perfect for a warm summer evening, and the calm ambiance is just what you need on your first night. Try their signature dish, tagliatelle yacca, which is prepared tableside and practically swimming in cheese!
Club 55:
Take a 1pm reservation at perhaps the most iconic restaurant in St. Tropez. The salade verte, plus the crevettes, which were the special of the day, were our favorites. Although the restaurant can become loud in the afternoon, the 1pm time slot is a relaxed way to start your vacation.
Where to Try Different Flavors in St. Tropez
Cozy banquettes at Salama
Salama
You feel like you’ve walked into a Moroccan hideaway at Salama, a rather large but still intimate spot tucked away just above town. The menu is traditionally middle eastern, with lamb tagines, grilled camerones, and eggplant salads. What’s more, at around 10:30, a DJ starts to play, and you can easily stay here all night.
BanH-Hoi:
The white tableclothed tables of Ban Hoi adorn the cobblestone streets of St. Tropez – a perfect setting for date night. Because it’s one of the oldest restaurants in town, it’s also one of the most beloved. While the menu runs the gamut of both Japanese and Thai dishes, there’s also a robust vegetarian selection. Whether a light dinner of sashimi, or a comfort meal of Pad Thai, definitely add this one to your list.
The Newest Restaurants on Pampelonne Beach

La Sirena
Head down to La Sirena, the newly opened beachfront club on Pampelonne beach, early to snag a few chaise lounges. The airy, breezy feel matches its light menu (the whole sea bass is excellent). Not to mention, if you’re traveling with children, they are well-equipped with high chairs, and it’s relaxed ambiance lends itself well to families.
Verde Beach
Another new spot on Pameplonne, Verde is a bit pricier than Sirena, with a more bohemian décor – think Tulum, but more upscale. We liked the grilled octopus and the thin pizzas, albeit, it’s hard to go wrong when you’re talking pizza. For more of a DJ scene, opt for a reservation at 3pm.
Byblos
My family tried this the day I left (Joe’s Juice for me in the Nice Airport!) but said it was wonderful. The beach club is the perfect antidote to a big night out at storied Byblos nightclub. Although you don’t have to be a hotel guest to reserve a table, like all the rest of these, you’ll want to. Perhaps our family just likes crevettes, but they said these were the standout dish!
Well-Known Spots with New Locations in St. Tropez
The St. Tropez outpost of Parisian LouLou’s
LouLous
Skip your croissant this morning – you’ll want to save room for the truffle pizza at LouLou’s, the newest outpost of the Parisian restaurant. LouLou’s imbues a French sophistication into its beachfront setting (illustrations from Benetton’s creative director, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, adorn the menus), and it’s one of the hardest reservations to get for good reason.
La Guerite
The original is only an hour away in Cannes (nestled on the tiny island of Sainte-Marguerite), however, the newest spot on the quay of St. Tropez is a much welcome addition. Fans of the St. Barths restaurant will recognize the same handsome linens, and maybe even the same playlist (ranging from Lionel Richie to Depeche Mode). With a grill-based kitchen and Greek cuisine, the menu may be simple, but it’s extremely well executed. (It’s hard to choose between the Tomahawk, whole roasted seabass and butterflied chicken, but you can always come back). What’s more, the spacious patio is a prime spot for an Aperol Spritz and zucchini fritter if you’re just strolling through town.
With such great options to choose from, the only question is, how long will you stay?
