Nevis Villas & Beach Vacation Rentals

Surrounded by colorful coral reefs, Nevis is a jewel of an island with miles of white sandy beach. Ficus trees interspersed with palm give the island another dimension of true nature, including jungle sounds of and a possible sighting of monkeys in the distance.

Widely considered one of the last remaining hidden gems in the Caribbean, the island of Nevis packs an irresistible multi-faceted punch: Its broad sandy beaches have remained nearly untouched, it has a rich and fascinating history, there's a vibrant active outdoor lifestyle centered around iconic Nevis Peak, and its villas for rent are both luxurious and ultra-exclusive.

As the lesser-known of the two islands, Nevis has long served as an under-the-radar tropical destination for some of the world's most exclusive celebrities. There are no sprawling all-inclusive luxury resorts in Nevis, and there's a distinct absence of any chain restaurants or stores. Cruise ships don't dock here, and you won't find a casino or a strip mall anywhere. In a word, Nevis remains unspoiled.

Whisk your significant other away to a stunning adults-only luxury villa with an infinity pool and hot tub overlooking the ocean, or bring the whole family along and stay in an exquisite plantation-style rental villa bordering the Robert Trent Jones II golf course.

Beach Houses and Beachfront Villas on Nevis

Nevis is small and largely undeveloped, which means there's a limited number of private beachfront luxury villas. The houses available for rent on the beach are ultra-exclusive and come with some additional perks.

WIMCO Villas represents 12 private villas at the Four Seasons Resort Nevis, situated directly on Pinney's Beach on the island's western coast. Getting to the Four Seasons Resort Nevis is an island adventure in itself. First you will fly into the international airport on the island of St. Kitts. Once you arrive there, we will arrange a resort transfer service to start your vacation the moment you clear immigration and customs. As part of WIMCO's concierge service, a Four Seasons team member will greet your party at the luggage claim. From there, you’ll be introduced to a red-cap representative who will assist with collecting your luggage.

Once outside, you’ll be offered a chilled bottle of water as your bags are being checked off and tagged. Your party will be taken on a scenic 15-minute countryside ride to Christophe Harbour, where you will be treated to complimentary rum punch, fruit juice, and other beverages before boarding Four Seasons' guest speedboats to the resort for the short 15-20 minute boat ride to the resort. You’ll arrive at the resort’s on-property pier, where a staff member will greet you and escort you to your villa, then ensure that your luggage is delivered.

Where is Nevis and Why Visit?

Nevis is a 36-square-mile island paradise in the West Indies, one of the Leeward Islands, separating the Caribbean Sea from the Atlantic Ocean.

It sits adjacent to St. Kitts and about 220 miles southeast of Puerto Rico and it’s one half of the dual-island nation of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. "The Narrows," a 2-mile-long channel that takes less than 10 minutes to cross, separates it from St. Kitts.

The island truly has something for every type of traveler. Nevis' idyllic beaches are a top attraction, of course, but so are making the challenging trek up Mount Nevis and touring one of the many historic sugar plantations. No matter what your plans are while in Nevis, a luxury private villa rental in this laid-back paradise is sure to enhance it.

When Is the Best Time to Visit Nevis?

Although temperatures are consistently around 80 degrees on Nevis, the best time to visit is in May or June. Hurricane season runs from July through November and while prices are lower, many restaurants and other businesses close for the season.

Winter and spring mark the peak of Nevis' tourism season, attracting throngs of visitors seeking respite from cold weather. Carnival, or Sugar Mas, is also held every year during this time, a tremendous national event that runs for several weeks from November through January.

It's worth a visit to Nevis in and of itself, but know that during the Carnival event the island’s villas and hotels are usually fully booked by the time the date arrives. If you are planning to visit Nevis during Carnaval it would be wise to make your reservations well in advance to get the specific villa or hotel room you desire.

How to get to Nevis?

Nevis does have Vance W. International Airport, however there are few direct flights to it, you’ll find it mainly serves private jets and other very small airplanes on local routes. The Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport on St. Kitts, however, accommodates commercial airliners flying in from the UK and US. If you plan to  fly into St. Kitts, then you will get to Nevis via a short water taxi ride.  Whichever airport you fly into, you can expect a representative from your Nevis hotel or luxury house rental to meet you.

There are dozens of direct North American flights into St. Kitts each week, including from Dallas, Charlotte, Atlanta, Miami, New York City, Newark, and Toronto. Additionally, there are two direct flights each week from London Gatwick. For additional flight options, visitors can choose to connect in nearby Puerto Rico, Antigua, St. Martin, or St. Thomas.

Travelers to St. Kitts-Nevis are required to have passports valid for six months from entry. There are no visas required for stays of less than 90 days.

What are the top five things to do in Nevis?

Beaches

Nevis beaches are idyllic and authentically "old" Caribbean. Instead of chain restaurants and souvenir shops, you'll find casual beach bars and snack shacks. Many Nevis villas are near world-famous Pinney's Beach, with its shallow waters ideal for swimming.

The calm, clear waters at Oualie Beach are best suited for snorkeling, and there are complimentary hammocks and lawn chairs for visitors. For a truly unique experience, rent a four-wheel-drive Jeep and head south to secluded Indian Castle Beach, where you'll find conch shells and pottery shards left behind by native Carib and Arawak Indian tribes.

Nevis Peak

Adventurous travelers will enjoy hiking the 3,232-foot crown jewel of Nevis, a now-dormant conical volcano. The trek to the top isn't for the faint of heart, but the views from the summit are well worth the effort.

You're likely to encounter goats, playful Green Vervet monkeys, and waterfalls on your way up, but beware that the trails are not at all well-defined and the path is often muddy and slippery. There are, however, ropes along them. You may want to consider booking a guide, which can be arranged as part of your Nevis house rental.

Alexander Hamilton's birthplace

U.S. founding father Alexander Hamilton lived on Nevis until he was nine, and visitors can tour a replica of his original home in Charlestown.

Hamilton's actual home was destroyed by an earthquake in 1840, but was restored in 1983 with the original limestone foundation. The building now houses the Museum of Nevis History and the Nevis House of Assembly.

Botanical gardens of Nevis

Nevis' eight-acre botanical gardens are widely considered some of the most extensive in the Caribbean. Situated on the historic Montpelier Estate, a former 17th-century sugar plantation, the grounds consist of six distinct gardens including tropical fruit, orchids, butterflies, and herbs.

The onsite Oasis in the Gardens Thai restaurant uses many of the gardens' ingredients and is worth a visit from your Nevis villa in its own right.

Old Bath House

The opulent Old Bath House, also called the Bath Hotel, is thought to have been the very first hotel in the entire Caribbean.

It was built in 1787 with the purpose of letting visitors access the property's 107-degree volcanic hot springs, which are widely believed to have healing properties. Government offices have taken over part of the bathhouse, but visitors can still tour the property and soak in a bathing pool or wade in the stream.
