Villa Orchidea, also known as YPI ORI, is a beautiful, peaceful and super-panoramic property situated in Conca di Amalfi on a beautiful strip of coastline. The house dates back to 1820 but recently underwent a complete restoration.

There are 200 steps down to the villa from the parking area. There is a service entrance (30 steps down) where you can use a luggage lift to bring luggage down to the main villa. The property offers various pathways intertwining throughout and the extreme left area of the property offers a stone ‘grotto’ from where one can sit and enjoy some of the panoramic views. To navigate the property requires walking, steps, and various terraces, so may not be suitable for anyone with reduced mobility.

The main terrace of the 3-story house is located about 100 steps down from the main gate. The front door is found off of the main terrace, which offers the most amazing panoramic views and tranquility. The main terrace, with its white color motif and tile floors, boasts a stone barbeque, dining table for 4 and various seating areas.

The villa is splashed with beach house colors and ceramic tile floors abound. Entrance is into an open format where a small breakfast room opens into the bright kitchen. The breakfast room also borders, on the opposite side, the living room and secondary, small reading room. The main living room is an open space with a couch and several chairs. The smaller reading room boasts a Satellite TV with DVD player.

Down a flight of steps from the main terrace, a staircase leads to a super-panoramic external shower. The staircase leads to a second terrace where several sun lounge chairs and umbrella offer even more amazing views and a ‘grotto’ pool/jacuzzi coming out of the stone wall and plunging onto this second terrace. This terrace wraps around to yet another external terrace from where a small guest apartment lies.

This very basic apartment has a small prep kitchen, with a small refrigerator and a small living room with a breakfast table, TV and a couch which folds out into a queen bed. There is a double queen bedroom with a full bathroom with wall shower. All rooms in the guest apartment lead out onto a private terrace space offering three, comfortable sitting areas.

At the extreme left end of the property, in the garden is a small, hidden sitting room in a hollowed out grotto with sofa-bed (technically, this could be used as an extra bed, but the grotto does not have electricity in the room).

There is a staff apartment situated on the lower-most terrace, which is situated under the guest apartment. The head housekeeper, who stays in the staff apartment and is onsite, 24-hrs per day, although rental of the villa only includes 4 hours of cleaning per day (additional service upon request).
Reservation Tip – the owners of private villas in Europe prefer Saturday to Saturday rental dates. You’ll have more options if you can arrive on a Saturday. Ask your WIMCO villa specialist for help arranging flights, trains and car service.

    The Italy trip was fantastic. The villa was something out of a dream and just gorgeous. We had more room than we could ever use. The bedrooms were all as advertised and the bathrooms all different but each had essentials and worked flawlessly. The best thing was the housekeeper who we hired to cook for us and were rewarded with each meal being better than the last. She is a gifted chef. She shared stories and kept us smiling. We even changed some trip plans to just enjoy the villa. Some of us went swimming in the pool! It was like the first swim of the summer. Thank you for the recommendation
