Villa Ranuncolo, also known as YPI RAN, is a 9-bedroom villa in Tuscany, located in the Val d’Orcia area. Villa YPI RAN is set in a picturesque area with rolling hills. This area was the exact setting for the Oscar-winning movie The English Patient and the breathtaking panoramic countryside scenes in The Gladiator.

A private driveway leads through a large, iron gate and into a parking area with space for 4 vehicles. The driveway continues to the back of the villa and another parking area for several cars. The main entrance faces west and leads to a garden filled with lettuces and vegetables, which can be picked by guests.

The spacious and open ground floor of the 2-story villa comprises a living room with ample seating, a reading room with a large fireplace and chairs, and a dining room with seating for up to 14 guests. The dining room leads into a spectacular, well-equipped Tuscan kitchen with an open fire grill. A covered dining area faces the back garden outside, just off the main indoor dining area.

Each air-conditioned bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. The ground floor has 2 bedrooms and one has a small study and living room area. The second floor houses 4 bedrooms. The fourth and fifth bedrooms on this floor share a common living room with a beautiful fireplace. A 2-story annex houses the remaining 3 bedrooms, along with a gym, a lounge area, bar, and kitchenette.

The large, solar-heated infinity pool and Jacuzzi overlook the rolling hills (pool temperatures cannot be guaranteed). The adjacent deck is dotted with lounge chairs, which is ideal for sunbathing or reading poolside. The main patio terrace has several seating areas (covered and uncovered) and large daybeds.

Villa YPI RAN also comes with a barbecue, iPod docking stations, satellite TV, a washer and dryer, WiFi, and sparkling water. A refundable €2,500 damage deposit is due upon arrival in cash (Euros) or double-signed traveler’s checks.
Reservation Tip – the owners of private villas in Europe prefer Saturday to Saturday rental dates. You’ll have more options if you can arrive on a Saturday. Ask your WIMCO villa specialist for help arranging flights, trains and car service.

    The Italy trip was fantastic. The villa was something out of a dream and just gorgeous. We had more room than we could ever use. The bedrooms were all as advertised and the bathrooms all different but each had essentials and worked flawlessly. The best thing was the housekeeper who we hired to cook for us and were rewarded with each meal being better than the last. She is a gifted chef. She shared stories and kept us smiling. We even changed some trip plans to just enjoy the villa. Some of us went swimming in the pool! It was like the first swim of the summer. Thank you for the recommendation
