Welcome to Villa Yellow Bird (villa code: WV YEB), a sophisticated 4-bedroom villa located in Pointe Milou, St. Barts. This extremely quiet and private villa is situated at the end of a gated driveway dominates a high hill and offers sweeping, panoramic views within a short drive of several beaches.

One of the original St. Barts’ villas, Villa Yellow Bird was recently renovated to make this vacation home as modern as possible. Nut wood cabinets and closets and sand-colored tiles underfoot give an earthy vibe throughout the house, while modern furnishings and colorful fabrics and artwork add touches of island character. This home is refined and luxurious.

The original house was completed in 1973, a time when only a few villas dotted the island. Today, Villa Yellow Bird partially borders a natural reserve, in what is still one of the most fantastic locations in St. Barts. Beaches, shops, and restaurants are all 5 minutes by car.

Living Spaces: The name Villa Yellow Bird evokes feelings of bright sunny days and airy living spaces, and that’s exactly what’s on offer here. The open-plan layout welcomes in the island elements, with cool trade winds washing through the home, swirling up into the vaulted ceilings above.

A large open great room combines the living area, kitchen, and dining table. The entire space opens wide to the outside, framing wonderful views. In the sitting area here, comfortable seating provides a pleasant spot to enjoy a morning coffee or conversation with family and friends.

For some indoor entertainment, toward the back of the room is Villa Yellow Bird’s TV and game area. With a chess set and a beautiful mid-century sofa, this space enjoys a bit of a retro feel.

Kitchen and Dining Room: Villa Yellow Bird’s kitchen is modern and well equipped, where you can easily whip up meals during your stay. Just in front of the kitchen is the dining area with a spectacular, wall-filling photo from the early 1970s. This photo shows fruit vendors from Dominica sitting on a boat dock railing in Gustavia harbor, again giving the home a sense of timeless style.

Bedrooms: There are 4 bedrooms inside Villa Yellow Bird, warm and inviting with splashes of lively island colors in the bed linens and curtains.

The large master bedroom offers a king-size bed, ensuite bathroom, and extra seating. The main level also has two guest bedrooms. One bedroom has a king-size bed, while the other has twin beds or a king-size bed.

Below the living area is the fourth bedroom, which has beautiful nut wood paneling around the bed. This smaller bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed and an ensuite bathroom with a shower. Situated next to this bedroom is a well-equipped fitness room.

Outdoor Features: Outside, nature takes center stage, with stunning west-facing views. The beautiful bays of Lorient and St. Jean are enticing, glowing gold in the late afternoon.

There’s plenty of space in both sun and shade, and some of the villa’s original outdoor furniture was refurbished to accentuate the retro look. There’s an outdoor dining table for meals, and lounge areas for reading in the shade, enjoying a cool drink, or dropping off for a nap after a morning at the beach.

There is a lovely large, heated infinity pool on the terrace that allows you to take a cool dip as you gaze across the 270-degree views of Lorient, St. Jean, St. Martin, Anguilla, and Marigot. Villa Yellow Bird has some of the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Beyond the terrace, the rugged beauty of Pointe Milou begins, with the 10+ acres of private nature reserve sloping down towards the sea.
