The magical island of Capri has been enticing vacationers for more than a century...and it's easy to see why. This beautiful island, located off the Amalfi Coast, a short ferry ride from Naples or Sorrento, offers a relaxed, sun-drenched atmosphere, scenic vistas, delicious fresh seafood, historic Roman ruins and Italian villas to explore.
You can do as little or as much as you'd like on the Island of Capri. Whether that's hiking atop Mount Solaro or sitting on the terrace of your own luxury Capri vacation villa with a glass of Pinot Grigio or Limoncello in your hand.
Capri offers a diverse collection of luxury properties, including luxury rental villas and five-star luxury hotels. You can rent a luxury Capri villa with dramatic hilltop views or a cozy Capri hideaway with its own private swimming pool. We have accommodations to fit most any group, from a honeymoon couple to an extended family. If you prefer the amenities of a luxury five-star Capri resort, we also represent several of the finest hotels and resorts on the island.
Are you planning a vacation in Capri with your spouse and kids, or perhaps with a group of friends? One where you can make your private luxury villa a home-base for many fun filled days around the island and on the Amalfi Coast?
Or perhaps, you are longing for a quiet getaway in a romantic setting with your spouse or significant other? Do you want to get away from the demands of your job and your community, just for a week or two? In any case, the historic stone villas on the island of Capri are an ideal place to call home for a week. Most villas in Capri feature shaded outdoor patios offering views of the surrounding village, and of the ocean far below.
Many overlook the nearby islands of Procida and Ischia, or the soaring rock towers called the Faraglioni rocks. From your villa you can live like a local and stock your villa's kitchen with fresh foods from the local markets, create local dishes and dine-in, or venture out to popular eateries like Pizzeria Aurora, Villa Margherita and Terrazza Brunella.
WIMCO Villas offers luxury villa rentals to accommodate all sizes of groups, from a honeymoon (or second honeymoon) couple to a family and friends of 20 or more. Most of our villas have private swimming pools and some include fitness rooms, rooftop terraces, outdoor kitchens and whirlpool tubs. And all of WIMCO's Capri Villas include our complimentary signature Concierge services.
Which Villas in Capri Have the Best Pools?
As you return to your private Capri villa rental after a long day of hiking or sightseeing, what better way to unwind and relax poolside with family and friends? Kids will have fun in the water without having to share the pool with other guests as they would at a hotel.
Most of our luxury villa rentals feature their own private swimming pools, many of which overlook the sea. Some of our favorites are:
Villa Venere, a 5-bedroom villa, immersed in nature and surrounded by pine trees, grass, rosemary plants. Offers maid service, porter service and of course a pool with pool service and splendid views.
Villa Edera, 4-bedroom villa located in a quiet area and surrounded by wild Mediterranean plants, and offers a private and peaceful environment behind the iron-gated entry. The swimming pool is illuminated at night and offers fantastic views of the sea from the surrounding terrace.
Villa Piazzetta has 5-bedrooms and it’s located smack in the center, a two-minute walk from the infamous Piazzetta - the main square of Capri. Entrance to the villa, through a private gate, leads you into the garden foyer where the pool (5.5 meters x 5.5 meters) is set on a marble paved terrace.
What Are Some of the Best Villas for Families in Capri?

Capri Luxury 5-Star Hotels
If your idea of the perfect vacation is having a myriad of services and facilities just steps away from your suite, then a five-star hotel is probably the best choice for you. We represent the best luxury hotels on Capri, each of which has its own, unique character and charm. You may even spot a few celebrities. Capri is a favorite of the Hollywood movie and music set and such notables as Leonardo diCaprio, Jennifer Lopez and Taylor Swift have all recently spent time on the island.
If you're looking for luxurious accommodations with an historic feel and fine dining, just steps away from the best shopping in Capri, then the Grand Hotel Quisisana would be a good choice. If you'd rather spend time at a modern hotel at the water's edge with a world-class spa, then book the Capri Palace Hotel. For a suite with your own private pool plus a great selection of on-property eateries, you can't go wrong with the Villa Marina Hotel.
If you'd like to stay in what was once a private, cliff-side villa, now a luxury hotel with sweeping views of the Gulf of Naples, then the Caesar Augustus Hotel in AnaCapri is perfect for you. And, don't forget about the Hotel Punta Tragara, an Art Deco masterpiece that's been welcoming the world's most beautiful people to its beautiful cliff-side property since 1920.
Whatever your idea of the perfect vacation, the knowledgeable staff at the WIMCO reservations desk can help you pick the five-star Capri hotel that's best for you and your group. Renting Luxury Villas or 5-Star Hotels in Capri - Which One Is Right for You?
There are so many great choices of luxury villas and hotels to stay on the Island of Capri, we understand if you're having trouble making a decision.
A luxury Capri villa offers more privacy and more space than a typical suite at a five-star resort. Many of our Capri villa rentals have swimming pools and terraces where you can enjoy the beautiful Capri weather. Villas also have full kitchens, so you can make some of your own meals, saving you from having to break up your day to travel to a restaurant for lunch and breakfast.
On the other hand, a five-star resort offers a host of amenities, just a few steps away from your suite. If you enjoy multiple restaurants, nightlife and "big hotel" services, such as a spa or hair salon, then a five-star resort might be better for your group. No matter which Capri vacation home you choose, WIMCO Villas can see to all the services you need, including regular housekeeping, a private chef, dinner reservations, in-villa spa services and more.
Where is Capri and Why Visit?
Capri is located at the southern end of the Gulf of Naples, off of the Sorrento Peninsula, about 40 minutes by ferry from Naples. The island, a popular destination for both North Americans and Europeans, is well known for its casual atmosphere, the beautiful landscape including the Blue Grotto.
Its many churches and museums and the architectural remnants left there from the Roman Empire. Of course, Capri pants were popularized on the island and the stores there still have a good supply for residents and visitors alike.
What Is the Best Time to Visit Capri?
The Island of Capri is lovely any time of year. However, we think the best time to visit is during May, September and October. During these months, the weather is warm without being too hot and the summer crowds have either not arrived yet or have left for the season. The winter months are uncrowded, but not really suitable for enjoying the beaches. Plus many services and ferry routes close for the winter.
How to Get to Capri?
The Island of Capri is only accessible via sea. There are ferries that depart year round from Naples and Sorrento. During the summer, you can also catch a ferry from Positano, Amalfi, Salerno, and Ischia. Travel time is approximately 40 minutes from Naples.
To get to Naples, you can fly into Rome's Leonardo da Vinci International Airport non-stop from several cities in North America, such as Boston, Miami, New York City and Toronto, and drive the approximately 2.5 hours to Naples. Alternately, you can fly non-stop into Naples International Airport from most major European cities, such as Paris (Orly), Frankfurt, Madrid and Brussels. Flight time from New York City to Rome is approximately eight hours.
Visitors to Capri from the United States and Canada must have a passport with at least six months validity on it. No visa is required for stays of less than three months.
No vehicles are allowed to be brought onto the island. However, an excellent public transportation system makes it very easy to get around the island.
What Are the Top Five Things to Do in Capri?
1. Tour the Blue Grotto. The Blue Grotto is the most famous attraction on Capri. This 164-foot-long sea cave gets direct sunlight through its opening, which reflects off of the sea water and gives the entire space a blue, iridescent hue. Visitors tour the Grotto in small rowboats, piloted by local boatmen
2. Visit Villa San Michele. This beautiful, 19th-century villa offers extensive, landscaped gardens as well as dramatic views of the entire island and the Italian mainland beyond.
3. Be amazed at the views from Monte Solaro. Rising nearly 2,000-feet from sea level, Monte Solaro is the highest point on Capri and provides a dramatic backdrop to the colorful harbor. The park surrounding the summit offers miles of hiking trails as well as a statue of the Roman Emperor Augustus, who first landed on Capri.
4. Relive history at Villa Jovis. Villa Jovis is a Roman palace that dates from AD 27. From the ruins of the eight-story, walled estate, you can get a glimpse of what life was like for the most wealthy Romans.
5. Savor the food and drink of Capri. Capri is known for its excellent cuisine. Highlights include ravioli caprese, made with a fresh tomato and basil sauce; fresh seafood from the Gulf of Naples; and torta caprese, a local chocolate and almond dessert. For drinks, savor light refreshing white wines like Falanghina del Sannio, or the signature lemon liqueur called Limoncello.
