Location & Surroundings

Le Barthelemy St Barts enjoys a somewhat hidden-away location along the Grand Cul-de-Sac Bay, lined with one of the island’s top beaches. The Grand Cul-de-Sac’s expansive waters are remarkably shallow well offshore, and come buffered by a fringing reef. This is a true playground for sunbathers, snorkelers, paddlers, and definitely windsurfers, who appreciate the trusty inflow of the trades.

As a Le Barthélemy guest, you’ll be looking at the plush sands and calm, friendly waters of the bay to one side; to the inland, there’s the lovely Grand Etang lagoon.

Enjoying this beachy waterworld, you’ll find yourself only about 10 minutes by car from the Gustaf III Airport, and roughly 20 minutes away from the St. Barts capital of Gustavia. Closer yet, consider a scenic drive southeastward to the Côte Sauvage — the Wild Coast — of St. Barts.

Standout dishes are many, from the beef and veal carpaccios to the paella-style lobster, the shrimp risotto, and the mahi-mahi ceviche.

From the stacked breakfast buffet to sand-between-your-toes lunches and romantic, open-air dinners under the restaurant’s iconic blown-glass fish sculpture, Amis St. Barth elevates the resort’s culinary appeal to the top tier.

Key Strengths & Unique Offerings

The sheer level of service at Le Barthélemy just about puts it in its own category. Just like those huge rooms.

And its semi-hidden setting means it doesn’t receive a whole lot of day visitors, as compared to some other St. Barts hotels, which translates to a more tranquil vibe.

Insider’s Tips

  • Le Barthélemy lays claim to St. Barts’ only underground parking garage. That makes for a pleasant car-free vista on the grounds.
  • Sea turtles commonly cruise the Grand Cul-de-Sac Bay and its reef, so definitely consider donning some snorkel gear during your stay here.

FAQs

Four-legged friends can also enjoy Le Barthélemy Hotel’ signature Couture Hospitality! Allocating certain pet-friendly rooms, the resort welcomes small to medium-sized dogs, with larger breeds allowed on request.

With its very own Amis St. Barth, Le Barthélemy proudly claims one of the best restaurants on St. Barts. On such a foodie-friendly island, though, you’ll likely also want to experience some other dining destinations, of which there are many right in the Grand Cul-de-Sac area. These include beachfront Le Rivage with its pizzas and other Italian fare, plus some establishments at nearby hotels, including Le Select’s Al Mare Restaurant and Rosewood Le Guanahani’s Beach House St. Barth.

The top attraction would certainly be the Grand Cul-de-Sac itself, the beachfront, and the lagoon. But you’re also well poised to visit Marigot Bay, St. Jean Beach, and the Côte Sauvage.
