All too soon our St. Barths trip was over and I was off to my next island, Anguilla. An 8.30am flight to Grande Case, then the ferry to Blowing Point to check out the villas on this beautiful island.

Anguilla looks great, especially when I compare it to my 1st visit 20 years ago. The roads are much cleaner, and better overall, there are crops in the fields which were previously just dust bowls. The island is MUCH cleaner than I recall and the properties visited offer a good variety of accommodations in both hotel and villa styles ranging in styles from the simple to the deluxe.
Dining options, while not as numerous as those on St. Barths, certainly provide enough variety for a week or 2. The places I tried were just right, offering a good variety of both food and wines. Roy's Place on Sandy Ground is great for lunch and from my experience, has the best fish and chips in the Caribbean, a good thick batter and great chips to go with it. Elodia's on Shoal Bay is another favorite, and not to be missed is lunch at Scilly Cay, a short boat trip away.
For villas, Anguilla has a lot to choose from intimate places for couples, to large villas for extended gatherings. Relaxation is a given on Anguilla with great beaches to play on and the water sports to go with it. There is also a golf course open for those who want it. Overall, Anguilla was a delight, as I had not expected the changes to be so marked.
Seen in Anguilla:
Villa LHE BLE is a glamorous villa fit for a once in a lifetime event or any vacation where luxury is a must. This 10-bedroom villa can be combined with a neighboring property for a total of 19 bedrooms! With a professional staff, 2 pools, a private beach, tennis and a cinema, your party will want for nothing.
Villa MD BOP is an elegant villa for intimate vacation gatherings. There are 4 bedrooms, all with views of the beach that is just a short walk away. Beautiful gardens and sparkling pools invite guests to relax the days away.
Villa IDP ZEB is just a 5 minute walk to Mead's Bay Beach where you can access several restaurants. This is a very comfortable 2 bedroom villa where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets from the pool terrace.
